Today we were all up on time. M was super eager to start, and was asking about Beit Sefer Lemalah as soon as he was dressed. Morning singing and exercise was awesome and energizing. We sat down for a math lesson working on numbers 1 through 10. R went along with the sandpaper numbers, but didn't seem motivated to do anything more. M didn't care for the activity I picked out for him, but wanted to try the sandpaper numbers.... After that, he asked for the Dry-Erase board to write and draw on. R then wanted to do that, too, so I got another Dry-Erase board for him, and both boys worked hard for nearly an hour! R learned about closing markers and putting them back in the bin each time, and M practiced tracing geometric shapes and copying numbers.
After we cleaned up the Dry-Erase boards and markers, we took care of diapers/potty stuff and got R in the stroller. M started out walking, but got in the stroller after about a 1/2 mile. Since it was just us, I went to the store. Playground would be too wet today. On the way home, M had a snack of an apple bar, and at home R had fresh apple and cheerios. Then we read some books. Just on schedule!

First Day of School!
The boys were a bit sleepy this morning, so we started a bit late -- 9am instead of 8:30. We did some singing, dancing and jumping, then sat down for a lesson -- copying their names from their name badges, then drawing pictures on the sheet of paper. The drawing was not up to M's usual standards, but he enjoyed the process, and was very good about cleaning up all the pencils when we were done! Then he went to the bathroom without complaints, and off we were for a walk.
It had rained last night, so we went to the library instead of a playground. Both boys had a great time, and M did not want to leave. I regretted not having a stroller for him -- he straggled the whole way home. I hope that as he gets used to this routine that he will be more cooperative. Once here, both boys settled down with their bottles and snack (bread and cheese). Now M is playing his favorite game on the computer and R is looking at books.
What a wonderful day!

Welcome to Lemalah -- a.k.a. JUMP! Preschool
I am planning to start next week on schedule, even if my only students are my own darling little boys, M and R, for the first week or 2. By all means, contact me by email if you are interested! I'd love to show you around!
